About this data

Tenancy Services, part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, publishes the median weekly rent on new bonds lodged each month for every territorial authority. New Zealand rents are quoted per week; each area page also shows the monthly equivalent (weekly rent times 52, divided by 12). Small districts lodge only a few bonds a month, so their medians move around.
